1. How long is the initial consultation and what is covered?
The initial consultation usually lasts 15 to 20 minutes. It covers your personal information such as home address and doctors information, as well as your health history, any niggling problems or health concerns that you may have, and your lifestyle incorporating diet and exercise.
2. Why is an initial consultation necessary?
The initial consultation is necessary to ensure that the treatment that you receive is appropriate for your health and well-being, in all circumstances. It will help the practioner develop a focused treatment plan which will be discussed and agreed with yourself.
3. Can I use complementary therapies instead of seeing my doctor?
Whilst complementary therapies can help a wide range of health problems they SHOULD NOT be used instead of orthadox medicine. The advice of a doctor should be sought if symptoms persist. Any diagnosis should ONLY be carried out by a medically qualified doctor.
4. Can I stop taking the medication prescribed by my doctor?
Under no circumstances should prescribed medicines be withdrawn WITHOUT PRIOR consultation with your doctor.
5. How do I arrange an appointment?

6. How do I know which treatment will be most beneficial for me?
If you are unsure which therapy is most suitable for you, or you have simply not tried the therapy before, this will be discussed with you at the time you make your appointment.
7. Can I pay by credit card?
Sorry, but currently Wood & Co are unable to accept payments by credit card. Payment should be made by cash or cheque, supported by a guarantee card where necessary.
8. Who are your insurers and what insurance do you have?
Louise Wood holds Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance and is insured through EMBODY, Holisitic Insurance Services.
9. To which professional bodies do you belong?
Louise Wood belongs to the following professional bodies;
- Full Member of the Association of Reflexologists (AOR) www.aor.org.uk.
- Full Member of Complementary Therapists Association (CthA) and an EMBODY professional www.embody.uk.net.
10. What specific qualifications do you hold?
- ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Massage, including Anatomy & Physiology.
- ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Indian Head Massage
- Diploma in Aromatherapy from the Beaumont School of Natural Medicine, accredited by the International Federation of Aromatherapists.
- Diploma in Reflexology from the Philip Salmon School of Reflexology, London, accredited by the Association of Reflexologists.
11. Do you offer gift vouchers, and if so how long are they valid for?
Yes, gift vouchers are available and may be redeemed against a treatment, or course of treatments, in full or part payment. The vouchers are valid for a six month period unless specified otherwise.
12. How do I obtain a gift voucher?
A gift voucher may be obtained by sending an email to
